Site Design by SiteSublime
SiteSublime builds author and small-press websites that feel like literature: quiet, atmospheric, intentional, and built for the long work of readership.
A Literary Website for Dagny Scott
Dagny’s website needed to hold several identities without flattening any of them: journalist, editor, strategist, author, and memoirist.
The goal was not to create a generic author platform. It was to build a one-page literary site that could:
Present Dagny as a serious nonfiction voice.
Support publishing outreach for her completed memoir.
Give readers a clear sense of her body of work.
Invite visitors to be notified when the memoir becomes available.
Feel restrained, human, and editorial rather than promotional.
The site had to communicate credibility quickly while preserving atmosphere, privacy, and emotional nuance.
What We Solved
A literary identity with range
Dagny’s work spans journalism, editorial leadership, strategic communications, and books. The site needed to make those chapters feel connected rather than scattered.
We shaped the page around a simple throughline: a life spent listening closely, clarifying complexity, and bringing language to bear on what matters.
A restrained memoir launch architecture
Because the memoir is completed but not yet published, the site needed to build anticipation without overexplaining the book.
The notification form was designed as a quiet invitation rather than a newsletter pitch: a way for interested readers, agents, publishers, and media contacts to stay informed when the memoir becomes available.
A visual language with gravity
The design uses editorial spacing, muted contrast, strong typography, and cinematic pacing to create a sense of seriousness without heaviness.
The goal was for the site to feel less like a marketing page and more like entering the opening atmosphere of the work itself.
